Melissa Roos
Melissa, a true country girl at heart, was raised in the heart of Iowa, where her childhood was filled with adventures across the sprawling Midwest countryside and hard work in the fields during the summer months. A proud graduate of Iowa State University and an unwavering Cyclone fan, Melissa eventually made her way to Maryland before settling in Pennsylvania with her husband and four children, making Lancaster County her home.
In January 2020, Melissa took a bold step into the world of writing, publishing her first book and immersing herself in mystery romance. Since then, she has authored five standalone novels, each intricately crafted with captivating plots and subtle clues that keep readers hooked. Driven by a lifelong love of reading, sparked her passion for writing, which she describes as revealing a secret, one page at a time.
Someone asked me once why I wanted to write.
“What it comes down to is that I love to read. I love picking a book, looking at the cover, reading the back, opening it, diving right in, and getting lost in the pages, the characters, and the storyline. I love it when a plot sucks me right in, keeping me guessing or wanting to know what's going to happen next. I laugh and cry while reading; yes, I have done both. I stayed up way too late to finish it and was terrified to be alone while reading because the story drew me in so much. I wanted to do that. I wanted to create that. I wanted to give someone else that experience with my stories.”
Tennessee Wishes
Ava Morgahn arrives in Nashville with nothing but a fierce dream and a burning determination to make her mark in country music, but the city is shadowed by an unsettling rise in crime—a serial killer is lurking in the darkness.
With a shaky plan and a head full of hope, Ava secures a modest apartment with a friendly roommate and takes a job waiting tables at a popular bar, hoping desperately to land her first chance to perform on stage.
Then, fate throws her into the path of Owen Layne, a brooding rising star in the cutthroat world of country music. Despite battling his own demons and being haunted by a tragic past, Owen and Ava’s connection is instantaneous, a magnetic spark neither can ignore. Is it love at first sight—or something more dangerous?
When Ava suddenly stops communicating, Owen is left reeling, torn between doubt and longing. Was their connection just a fleeting spark, or is there something deeper at play? As the city shudders under the terror of a serial killer who has already claimed multiple victims, Owen wonders if Ava’s disappearance is merely a coincidence—or if she’s become the killer’s next target.
