About Mary:
Mary K. Tilghman, an award-winning journalist and travel writer, writes historical novels and sweet love stories. Her home state of Maryland figures prominently in all of her novels.
She first considered the move from non-fiction to novels while she was touring historic sites for Frommer’s Maryland and Delaware travel guides. In 2017, she put her press credentials aside—at least temporarily—to publish her first novel, Divided Loyalties, the story of an immigrant Irish teenager who serves as a Civil War battlefield nurse. It was cited in CBSBaltimore’s “Five Baltimore Authors To Put On Your Summer Reading List.”
Fearless Summer: A Return to Chincoteague is her third sweet romance published by Champagne Book Group. A fourth book, set in Ocean City, Md., Step into the Sunlight, will be released in Summer 2023.
When she’s not wearing out yet another computer keyboard, Mary likes to hang out on her sailboat or play her hammered dulcimer. She still freelances and loves to encourage other authors.
She and her husband Ray are lucky to have their three grown children living nearby.
