Leah Kelly, writing under a pen name, was born in Sao Paulo Brazil and came to the United States with her parents when she was young. She lived most of her adult life in Annapolis Maryland, where she raised her two sons, and after 40 years, still practices law in a civil litigation law firm. She spends time writing on the Delaware shore. She was named TOP 100 Women in Maryland by the Daily Record, a Baltimore newspaper for all of her work with civic organizations and leadership in the community. She believes mentoring our youth is an obligation and has endowed a book scholarship at her alma mater, UMBC. She is a supporter of the GRAEL Project in Niteroi, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil , where children are taught to sail in order to champion the sport and learn vocations in the sailing industry to enhance their lives.
Originally a known childrens book author, Pieces of Gold is her first adult novel based in her hometown of Annapolis, Maryland.
