J. Alison Cole

  • Bethany Beach Books 99 Garfield Pkwy Bethany Beach, DE, 19930 United States (map)

Meet J. Alison Cole, author of Talk of the Town on Sunday, July 5th at 6:30pm at Bethany Beach Books for a meet and greet book signing!

Olivia Martel

J. Alison Cole started college to study accounting, but quickly realized that she didn’t want to do that for the rest of her life. She shifted gears and turned to her artistic side and became a graphic artist. Life followed in the form of love, marriage, raising two boys, running her own business, lots of cold mornings on the soccer field, (coaching), crafting the illusion of a mostly clean house, and the never ending search for that one missing sock. At the end of each day she found peace by reading, which naturally unleashed her imagination to write.

When she’s not writing, which is rare, her creativity spills into painting, stained glass, or talking her wonderful and supportive husband into some insane project. (Most recently a bottle wall on the patio. It turned out great,) but she still considers her boys to be the best thing she ever created.

She and her husband made their home in Maryland with a lazy bulldog named Hazel, and an Australian cattle dog named Roxie. The sock is still missing.

Talk of The Town

Erica Gebhart just turned forty. Everyone in town considers her a celebrity. They say her reputation is one of perfection, and the only thing sexier than confidence is her natural beauty. However, she's never claimed to be perfect or even remotely famous. If it were, then how could she be divorced? Thirty-five-year-old Reese Mailing is new to town and has a reputation nowhere near as shiny. Gossipers have him pegged as a womanizing former Marine with a promiscuous past and ties to the law, and he'd be the first to admit that Erica is out of his league. Working as a farmhand, he's not exactly the caliber of man people expect someone like her to be with.
The characters are faced with realistic and relatable challenges, everything from age, social classification, racism, and miscontrued gossip.
In a nutshell: forty can be sexy, don't believe everything you hear, and one person can make a difference.
