Dana Harp

About Dana:

Dana Harp grew up in central New Jersey where a fun Friday night was walking across the street from the only movie theater in town to the only Applebee’s in town.

She moved to Pennsylvania after graduating from Chestnut Hill College with bachelor’s degree in English and communications. She continued her education by earning her master’s level certification in project management from Rochester Institute of Technology and her PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. She currently works in global operations for oncology clinical research; a career she would not trade for the world.

She lives a private life on the bay in Delaware with her husband, their dogs, and her three bonus children. If the sun is out, you can find them on their boat fishing for flounder or tuna, crabbing, or out raking the clam beds (Dana often takes the easy way out for this one and will tan while reading instead).

It was Dana’s childhood dream to one day be a published author. In fact, the specific concept for Growing up Hadley started as a 10-page short story when she was 19 and in college. She felt certain it would never turn into more but picked it back up and decided to go for it. She will always remember that dreams never die, they just lay dormant until you’re ready to make the leap. Thank you for reading and making the leap worthwhile.

Your Payment Method Has Been Declined begins with what Linda feels is the genesis of everything in her life…motherhood and the birth of her first son, Devin, in 1995. At the time, her mother was dying from breast cancer and would live only five weeks after his birth. It was a marker for “how the hell am I going to do this without mommy,” to “how the hell did I do this without mommy and daddy…” eight kids later. No topic is off topic for this from the soul, gut -wrenching purge about the grief encompassing divorce, the loss of her parents, her brother, and her freedom through the shackles of a trust left by her father, the trustees and the shame and humiliation that took its toll. Oh, and the kidney lost through cancer and the detached achilles that grounded her for almost a year. Linda brings humor and honesty to even the most grim of circumstances and relies on her Catholic faith and a lot of saints to heal her. Empathy… the gift that was never expected and the reasons for life horrors that shroud themselves in wolf’s clothing are really a gift from the Magi years later. Aren’t you Mario Perillo’s daughter? Yes, I am…don’t ever judge a book by its cover.
