Hank, the Unhappy Great Blue Heron
Hank, the Unhappy Great Blue Heron, is very sad. He would witness the snow geese and Canada Geese, found in large flocks, enjoying each other's company. Hank, however, was always alone–a solitary breed of bird.
One day, Hank notices a young boy fishing near his favorite spot on the canal dock. As days go by, Hank slowly begins to trust the young lad to be his friend. The boy works patiently to develop that trust with Hank.
In this story written for children ages 3-9, the reader learns the importance of friendship. This touching story can stimulate a discussion of whom to trust and how we learn to trust others. "Hank" joins "Oscar, the Obstinate Osprey" and "Sammy, the Sagacious Owl" in her picture book serie
