Meet Amy Watkins, author of Amiri’s Web of Wonders on Sunday, August 9th at 6:30pm!

Amy L. Watkins is a National Board Certified teacher, author, and literacy advocate passionate about creating meaningful connections between home and school through storytelling. With years of experience teaching students and mentoring teachers, she brings a deep understanding of how stories can inspire curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

She is the author of Amiri’s Web of Wonders, a thoughtfully crafted shared reading experience designed to engage young readers while encouraging rich conversations about language, identity, and imagination. Amy is also the founder of Sadie Bug Publishing and the host of the Rock Paper Write podcast that amplifies the voices of local authors, highlighting the power of storytelling across communities.  Her book Love is Golden: Lessons From a Therapy Dog won a Literary Titan Award and she is also passionate about rescue dogs and was inspired by her rescue black lab mix, Sadie.
