Meet Sue Levine, author of the Susie Shoesies series!
Susie's Shoesies... Some Dreams Really Do Come True!
Eight-year-old Susie Gardner’s Granny Ella comes to visit and help her granddaughter celebrate her birthday. Granny Ella brings Susie a very special birthday present … glittery, sequined red shoes that have magical powers. They allow Susie to travel back in time to learn important life lessons that will make it possible for this socially conscious young girl to solve present-day social problems. As you travel along with Susie, you will meet inspirational women who have helped shape our country’s destiny. On your journey, you will fly in a 1948 airplane to a foreign country, visit a real palace, and free yourself from kidnappers who are trying to disrupt a meeting of the United Nations. At every turn, adventure, mystery, and a yummy chocolate cake await you.
Susie's Shoesies... A New Generation of Adventures
In this last book of the Susie’s Shoesies series, three generations of time-traveling adventurers return to their past and meet the woman who started it all. The mystery begins where it all began, with a gift from one loving grandmother to her eight year old granddaughter, and weaves in and out of government scandals, lies, and a young man’s quest for revenge. Throughout this journey, the remarkable Metavoy family perseveres, honors their own history, and is witness to a budding romance that will shape their destiny. Once they return to their present, a plot to destroy a dear friend’s self-esteem is unraveled. This effort tests the meaning of “friendship” and proves how other people’s truths can help us embrace our own. In the end, when their other than ordinary lives return to what will surely be an extraordinary future, nothing will ever be the same.
