John Micklos, Jr, has written nearly 50 children's books, including picture books, poetry books, biographies, and history and social studies book. His most recent book, One Leaf, Two Leaves, Count with Me! published by Penguin/Nancy Paulsen Books in September 2017, has drawn rave reviews. Other selected titles include Beach Fun: Poems of Surf and Sand, The Sound in the Basement, and the National Geographic Kids book 125 True Stories of Amazing Pets (contributor). Micklos worked for many years for the International Literacy Association, where he edited the adward-winnning Reading Today newspaper.
