Stuck in the Onesies
Two best friends navigate the changing world of the 1960s in Washington, D.C.
At first, Barb doesn't expect to like Ellie. Her husband, Jake, is best friends with Ellie's husband, Will, but that doesn't mean their wives have to get along. Barb is slightly intimidated by Ellie's vivacious spirit and homemaking skills. The tow women, however, bond over getting "stuck in the onesies" in a game of jacks. That small moment of connection changes both of their lives forever.
As Barb and Ellie's friendship grows, they find they need to lean on each other during the tumultuous times they're living through. The civil-rights movement, women's liberation, and the Vietnam War surge like tidal waves through their world and their lives.
Both women have to decide whether to change with the times or keep getting stuck in the onesies. Striving for the Tensies together, they're lucky to have each other to laugh and lean on.
"Stuck in the Onesies," is loosely based on her years growing up just outside the beltway. You'll fall in love with Barb and Ellie as they meet JFK and Jackie, get caught up in civil rights marches, and manage to raise a family in the midst of it all. You'll laugh, cry, and wake up the history buff in you as the story unfolds. Civil rights, Viet Nam, and women's rights are just a few of the issues that bubble to the surface of the story.
